Wisdom for Creative Enterprise

The word ‘enterprise’ means a project or undertaking, especially a bold or complex one, that requires initiative and resourcefulness. It also means a business or company.

The word ‘creative’ means having or showing good imagination or original ideas. Creative enterprise therefore means an original business idea that is bold and demonstrates resourcefulness.

This sixth (6th) stage in the 7 Step Boaz Process is a unique one. It teaches that God has reserved a wisdom for widows and their children – an original business (or job or enterprise) idea that will flourish and turn around their financial fortunes.

Proverbs 8:12

I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

The Two Sources of Wisdom

There are only two sources of wisdom available on earth. The first is Earthly Wisdom and the second is Heavenly Wisdom. Earthly wisdom comes from the Devil, through the human brain when an individual chooses to act without consulting God. Heavenly wisdom comes from God through the human spirit, when the individual seeks God’s counsel on what to do. Please read Isaiah 30:1-3.

Earthly Wisdom becomes active when men and women, boys and girls engage their brains to conclude on a matter (based on available facts) without consulting God. It can be full of persuasive, factual and insightful analyses. It has the following characteristics: (i) It uses raw materials, knowledge and technology provided by God to develop and commercialise products and services; (ii) The products, services and systems it develops are tainted with less than perfect ideas; (iii) It delivers some tangible achievements, alongside painful and undesirable outcomes; (iv) It is limited in scope, accuracy, and potency, and involves toil and sweat to execute it; (v) Its impact/fruit is very inferior to Heavenly Wisdom; (vi) At its highest expression it leads its proponents and beneficiaries into occultism and demonic oppression (James 3:15); and (vii) Its achievements always amount to nothing in the long term (1 Corinthians 2:6).

Heavenly Wisdom on the other hand does not come from the human mind or brain. Its source is the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, and it comes by revelation to the human spirit (James 3:17). It was on display when Adam named all the animals in the garden at Eden (Genesis 2:18-20). And when God made tunics from animal skin to clothe Adam and Eve. It is superior to Earthly Wisdom, given that the fig leaves used as raw material for clothes by the Earthly Wisdom of Adam and Eve would not last more than a day or so. In its place the Heavenly Wisdom of God used animal skin.

According to James 3:17, Heavenly Wisdom also has seven (7) characteristics: (i) Pure – speaks to an upright and straightforward business scheme, without hidden agendas, dishonesty, and underhand tactics. (ii) Peaceable (iii) Gentle – hurts no one or the environment (iv) Willing to Yield – open to amendment when presented with the truth (v) Full of Mercy – incorporates elements that blesses the poor and vulnerable in society (vi) Without Partiality (vii) Without Hypocrisy.

The Benefits of Heavenly Wisdom

The benefits of heavenly wisdom to widows and their children are immense. It is chiefly an opportunity to access the mind of God for how to ensure their financial provision now and for the future. The story of a widow who approached prophet Elisha for financial bail out with two of her sons is told in 2 Kings 4:1-7. The heavenly wisdom given by God through Elisha created an oil trading business out of nothing for the widow and her family.

Heavenly wisdom from God strengthens the hand of the widow, dispelling the seemingly impending financial doom that threatens whenever the breadwinner of the home is no more. Please read Proverbs 24:5.

How to Get Heavenly Wisdom

You get Heavenly Wisdom by asking God for it. Before asking, ensure you have prepared your heart to seek God all the days of your life. Also ensure that you ask in faith, nothing wavering (James 1:5). In addition to this, God can on His own give you wisdom through your dreams or through those in spiritual authority over you. This was the experience of Ruth, when Naomi called her one day and gave her specific instructions (Ruth 3). Her obedience led to her marriage with Boaz. She became a wife and homemaker in Boaz’s family.
